Wow, I made it back to my blog!

Posted: Wednesday 25 April, 2012 in Uncategorized

This isn’t how I had hoped to do this. I mean, start a blog & then leave for months…ah well. I don’t beat myself up about that sort of thing like I used to- lol. It’s the thought that counts, eh? I mean, I truly thought about this blog many, many times but I just could not seem to get to it. I’d get wrapped up in some fiasco-du-jour, look up at the clock, & find it was nearly midnight (happens to me a lot). Anywho~~~

Since that first post, some five or so months ago, lots has happened. I had & ended a relationship, sent my kids off across the world for another contentious U.S. visit, got them back home safely, we became Australian citizens on Australia Day (26 Jan.!), my sister & her grand-daughter came down from Florida, my sister returned after three weeks but my great-niece has stayed to attend a half-year of uni in Perth, my son began his first year at uni as well, my daughter began her first year of high school, I finally got into physio, and I am now attempting to start my own business from home…whew!

So yeah, that’s why I wasn’t around the ol’ blog-a-roo for a while.

Let’s see if I can do better than one page, biannually…Β  πŸ˜‰

Since it’s summer vacation, I’ve got time on my hands and was fiddling with new features on my blog when I happened upon some of your comments. Hmmm…I thought. I know that person! Congrats on your new Australian citizenship. I imagine you can sing a rousing version of “Waltzing Matilda.” I’m lucky to wrote one post a month these days, but I’m still plugging away.

Why Jan! What a nice surprise you stopped by~ especially considering I have managed a whole TWO posts here- lol…I wish there was such a thing as being paid for being a slacker-blogger? There would be me, up on the top podium holding my academy award-type statuette, blowing air-kisses…. πŸ˜‰

Thank you for the congrats on our citizenship~ it was a long time coming & was something which took every, single speck of energy & determination in me to push it through. Five years ago, my entire life changed- so, by proxy, did my children’s. You know that saying about how life happens whilst you make plans? That’s completely true- I now vouch for it 100%. After that monumental change came a series of crushing blows & deliberate attacks/deceit from those I thought were our support. We (kids & I) are finally getting to the other side of it all. We made it.

Now, the kids are doing very well & I’m working towards a Cert. IV in small business & hoping to start a business from home. I want to be home for my youngest (daughter) & I enjoy technology repair & training- so that’s where I’m focused: helping the home user market here in our little town.

Okay- that’s the nutshell catch-up. Lots more happened, but we’ll leave it at that for now. Hope you had a great 4th & that you’re enjoying your summer off! Cheers! πŸ™‚

    Hi Tracy,
I’m glad you’re not beating yourself up about it. You strike me as the kinda gal who moves on very well πŸ™‚

    Fiasco-du-jour… like that.

It sounds like LOTS has been happening, yes: and thank you for embracing Australia & becoming a citizen. That’s a compliment to the nation. Welcome! Didn’t even realise you were wanting that.

And here you are πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
